About My Circular Wardrobe
The Aim.
We're Karen and Danielle, a mother and daughter team based in London, with a shared belief in slowing down the shopping process by extending the life of fashion that already exists. We launched My Circular Wardrobe in April 2020, and our aim is simple: to make you fall in love with secondhand fashion, hence our motto, "Preloved at first sight." We want buying secondhand to feel luxurious, not like a compromise, because buying luxury doesn't always mean buying new.
Mother.
I'm Karen, and I love working alongside my daughter Danielle. I've spent over 20 years in the fashion industry, following in the footsteps of my grandparents, who began exporting fabrics across the globe in the early 1960s. There's always been a stigma around buying secondhand, but I've watched that shift,and I've always loved hunting for hidden treasures in charity shops myself. We wanted to build an online platform that offered that same thrill, but with a more luxurious, less time-consuming experience and at prices that stay genuinely affordable, unlike a lot of existing resale platforms. The idea for My Circular Wardrobe came to us in January 2020 and we launched the site three months later.
Daughter.
I'm Danielle. Like my mum, I've spent nearly ten years in fashion, and I've always loved selling clothes. I've been listing my own wardrobe on eBay for over 15 years and hate seeing anything go to waste, sometimes to an extreme. I used to co-run an annual fashion event with Grazia magazine, selling discounted designer pieces for charity, before joining my mum supplying sustainable fabrics to designer brands. It took me a while to shop secondhand myself. I couldn't quite believe my glamorous mother was finding treasures in charity shops back in 2017, until she started showing me what she'd found and asking me to guess the price. Between her eye for a find and my love of selling, launching My Circular Wardrobe just made sense.
Every Piece Checked.
